American Missionaries in Europe:

Jeff Franks | Laura Kanaykina | Justin Owens

Europe is one of the seven traditional continents of the Earth. As the third most populated continent containing about 11% of the world's population, Europe is a great opportunity for mission work. Europe has played a vital role in global affairs since the 16th century and its early colonization ventures have led to worldwide European influences.

Modern Europe's religious history spans nearly 10,000 years of human settlement with religious diversity ranging from ancient Greek, Roman and Nordic faiths to Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Europe is largely a Catholic society with Islam following as the second largest religion. Europe also has the largest number and proportion of agnostics and atheists in the Western world making it a continent in need of the Word of Jesus Christ.
